<image:title>Blog - What a Beekeeper Needs to Get Started - It is important to be comfortable being close to the bees and having patience. There is a delicate balance between taking too much or too little time. You cannot be afraid to take the time to do what you need to during any given inspection, rushing only leads to mistakes happening. Working slowly, using your smoke properly, having deliberate but not sudden movements, and being gentle and calm will go far. These are skills that will come in time.</image:title>

<image:caption>We’re passionate about quality. It all started with the desire for sourcing our own honey and helping the environment. Our first garden was grown as a space for beauty and peace as well as source of food, not just for ourselves but for our wildlife friends. Everything is grown without harmful chemicals, and without disrupting the soil, so it’s safe and beneficial for us all to enjoy together.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We’re honing our awareness and sensitivity to nature. Keeping bees has brought us a new awareness of the delicate balance of our ecosystems. We’ve seen the profound effect just one hive can have on crops and flowers; we’ve also seen the devastation of one careless mosquito spraying on a previously thriving hive. Everything we do is for the betterment of bees, and not just honeybees, but all pollinators.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Spring and Summer 2025 we will be continuing our queen rearing program. Our queen breeding program has been growing every year and we anticipate this year will be no different. Selecting the best of our stock for overwintering, mite resistance, brood and honey production, we will be grafting and raising our queens. As well as monitoring them for brood production and laying patterns we are committed to having the strongest healthiest queens around.
