We are passionate about local and honeybees are no different. We are committed to becoming self sufficient without the need for ordering outside queens. Starting our own queen rearing program is the first step toward this goal: Improving our environment one queen at a time.
Quality
Queen quality is extremely important as the queen is the life force of her hive. Without her, there is no hive. Healthy, strong Queens with quality genetics are the future of sustainable apiaries. We are committed to raising the highest quality Queens, and we select our best stock for grafting and queen rearing. Spreading good genetics helps us in our quest to improve the pollinators in our local environment.
Proven
Our queens are always proven. We do not sacrifice quality for sales; for that reason it will likely takes longer for our bees to be available. In our opinion this is more than worth while, as poor quality Queens can set a hive back severely. We want nothing but the best for the bees, and almost always, that requires patience.
2024 Queen Rearing Program
Spring and Summer 2024 we will be continuing our queen rearing program. Our queen breeding program has been growing every year and we anticipate this year will be no different. Selecting the best of our stock for overwintering, mite resistance, brood and honey production, we will be grafting and raising our queens. As well as monitoring them for brood production and laying patterns we are committed to having the strongest healthiest queens around. For more information and updates click the box below.
