Summer Loosestrife

Although this is technically another multiflora, due to the abundance of its namesake and the honey’s unique qualities, we can say with some certainty that this honey is mostly Purple Loosestrife nectar. The apiary borders a marshy patch of ground just beside a swamp and less than a bee’s fly from the Mullica River. These conditions are perfect for growing Purple Loosestrife and although the crop is not a guarantee from year to year, this season was a bountiful one for the unique, neon green and pungently flavored Loosestrife honey.

Tasting Notes: Dry and tacky to the teeth; Essence of fresh cut roses, pine, tea, and anise
